Must(n't) copy the others: Ian's 2024 Spotting Year Review

Howdy

It is that time of the year: time to copy everyone else.

2024 has been a very eventful year for my planespotting journey. I haven’t visited new places, but I have pushed my skills beyond what I thought I was capable of. At the end of the summer, I finally had the money to upgrade from my crop sensor Nikon D7200 to a full frame Nikon Z6. This upgrade allowed me to take types of photos my old camera would have never been able to take. And therefore, I am very pleased with the switch to ff mirrorless.

SMOKEY STARTUP

Probably my favorite photo of all time. The sky and the plane perfectly complement eachother

Face to face with the beautiful orange pride livery

This took way too long to edit…

On the very first day I took out my new camera for spotting, I got rewarded with some AMAZING weather conditions at Schiphol

Probably the highlight of all Eindhoven spotters this year: a very rare hifly A340-300 parked right in front of the P4 parking lot.

The sharpest 1/8 pan I have ever gotten

The way the beacon light shines though the water looks amazing

Somehow managed to synchronize three beacons at one

All amazing shots, but that trio of beacon lights is pure eye candy for bright flashy lights on planes at night.

very cool pics
