Hey there team, I just wanted to point out several problems at Shin-Chitose Airport or New Chitose Airport (RJCC) in Sapporo, Japan. The airport was updated into a 3D airport in the last update.
(I hope all of this doesn’t sound like a broken record.)
Several jet bridges at the airport doesn’t function at all and the stair truck takes its place instead.
From my research, Domestic Gates 0 to 10 and the entire International Terminal jet bridges doesn’t function.
Only Domestic Gate 11 to 19 works.
The Unicom for the airport doesn’t sound right. For example, at Tokyo Haneda International Airport (RJTT), the Unicom calls it Tokyo Haneda Traffic. However, the Unicom for Chitose calls it “Shin Traffic” and the word “Chitose” is missing.
Shin (新) is “New” in Japanese so it would literally mean “New Traffic” and many Japanese IF players I know pointed out that it was awkward or funny to hear when they first heard it.
This might not be such a problem but why exactly is the word “airport” (Kuko: 空港) in Japanese? It looks cool to have but the unfortunate problem is that the “u” and the “o” appears as squares on a player’s information screen.
When I land at Chitose from the North (19R or 19L), the game thinks that I am at the next-door Chitose Air Base (RJCJ) and the yellow taxiway lines you see on the map only shows the air base side and not the civil airport. In the menu, it will also tell me that I finished my flight to RJCJ despite parking at the RJCC side.
There is no estimated timeline for a fix, but it has been sent for further review.
“New Chitose Airport” is how the frequency is listed. “Shin” is read because it comes from the airport’s name; I can forward this to be looked into and possibly revised.
The characters ‘ū’ and ‘ō’ are not rendering correctly. It’s odd since they render fine in the ATC communications tab. Nonetheless, it should read “Airport” since that is how it’s written in the airport’s properties tab within the Editor. I will have this looked into.
Something similar like this happens at Travis Air Force Base (KSUU). The game goes off of whatever airport your closest to that has its own ICAO. At Travis AFB the further down runway 21 you go The taxi were working is disappearing. It thinks you’re at 8Q0. It seems like You experienced the same thing but there. Essentially, it’s unknown issue and shouldn’t cause too much of a problem.
This is basically the only point that wasn’t known. The issue is that the hyphen ends the airport name.
I heb removed it and changed the unrecognised ū and ō to u and o.
That is all that could be done from editing side for now.
All the Jetbridge, Network representation, and viewpoint stuff couldn’t been fixed by the editing team. Development is made aware of the issue with close neighbouring airports and will care soon™or not so soon™.
