Changes to our multiplayer servers have been rolling out over the last few updates, mostly unannounced and undetected. Part of the reason for these updates is to allow for more interactivity online, while a lot is focused on performance, load-handling, and futureproofing. Let’s take a closer look at what’s been happening.
The Casual and Training Servers have already received these updates. As Expert has more traffic (between aircraft and ATC operations), we are starting a public beta of the optimized Expert Server with the intention of stress-testing the new changes.
As it is a beta, please bear this in mind:
This server may experience disconnections or crashes, but we are monitoring stats with the aim of replacing the existing Expert Server.
Please report any disconnections, disappearing aircraft or server crashes (that last more than 10 minutes) via this thread.
The server is available in-app as Expert Server (Beta), if you are Grade 3 or above.

Hopefully the multiplayer server beta will exceed the performance levels✈️ and there’s more to come with improvements that goes with it.
We sure hope not, but it’s possible. That’s all part of the testing and data-collecting phase we’re entering with the long-term goal of preventing that from happening in the future.
I’m not sure you have any info or data to suggest it’s unstable. The beta server is preferred for events. We’re not going to magically arrive at the end result without exposing it to heavy loads. :)
