What’s the most challenging airport in IF for you to land and/or take off from?
For me it’s little hands airport (59CA) in the San Francisco region. The terrain & short strip makes it quite challenging to operate in and out of. Feel free to share!

Saba in the Carribean aswell as St. Barthélemy Gustav III.
Saba: shortest runway in the world (commercial)
And St. Barthélemy is a steep approach followed by a short Lanting
Haven’t tried these airports, what’s challenging about them?
That’s tough especially if your heavy or land long: won’t stop in time.
try 15S (lester state) in seattle. best i can get is a c-130J, if i fiddle with weather
WMBT runway 02. Good luck !
If you fancy recreating old `HK, then try PHTO 08, by following the correct procedures ( i.e. Not over the Volcano and city as I see people do often!)
How? The runway is like 250ft long. I haven’t managed to land there with any aircraft.
WMBT runway 02 is rather difficult…
50 knot headwind, -90C weather and reversers while still in the air
That explains it. Lol.
Land an A380-800 at runway 02 in WMBT. Runway 02’s approach is definitely among the scariest and the most challenging one because you will never be able to take off due to the mountains
It’s like approaching to Runway 33 at KASE instead of Runway 15. Although WMBT’s one is more challenging
My pick for the most challenging airport would WMBT in the Singapore region. Quite a tough approach on RWY 20, and RWY 02 has a steep hill at its threshold so that approach is out of the question. You also need to have a lot of confidence in your manual flying to land at this airport, not to mention that the runway is not the longest in the world.
I’d be interested in approaches to airports that are commonly used and flown into in IF.
I’ve seen 15S mentioned before, but that’s a “runway” for gliders, and…is non-operational. So, yeah, that’s probably hard. What about airports we use commonly that you hate see a particular runway active?
22s at PHNL come to mind.
05 at PHOG.
You are just slightly exaggerating l hope…it’s rwy is about 3300 ft…and plenty long enough for any GA…and 02 only takes some extra practice at getting the right approach angle…l do t&gs there fairly often now…just keep practicing in solo until you get it down and then move it to casual…you can land a small jet like a CX there but t&gs on 20 are fairly standard …try an over the cliff dive onto 20 in a C130 if you really like being a daredevil… that’s the ticket !!!
Sorry, I propably didn’t make it clear enough.
I meant that 15S (Lester State in the Seattle region) has the 250ft runway. :)
OK…About the only thing you could land on a 250 ft rwy might be the Super D… without rolling off it…unless you cut your throttle and try to just glide in…personally l would prefer an AV-8B… but do not see any in the IF inventory yet !!!
It’s for gliders only.
And closed indefinitely.
You can get a C-130J down on it
Is it? I looked it up and it didnt seem to be
Yep… it’s all in the control of your descent angle and your use of the thrust reversers…but it’s like a wild roller coaster ride…not for the squeamish…when you barely miss slamming into the mountain side on the way down…but what a rush !!!
