More Special Than Regular Movements | Munich, July 3, 2020

Hey there,

it’s time for your weekly spotting topic once again - with increasing traffic it starts to become a bit more interesting slowly but surely. Since my last trip was rather short nevertheless, you’ll also see not as many pictures as usual today.

Let’s start with a special I thought I would have missed by the time I arrived at the airport, but I was lucky enough to have it taxi past me only minutes after I arrived at the spot. The Germain Air Force’s sole A321 was the first plane I used to properly test my new wide angle lens with. Later this year, they will also receive two A321neos, maybe these will show up in Munich at some point as well.

Shortly after, a slightly smaller Raytheon of Flight Ambulance International passed by as well.

Before changing my spot, the second government movement of the day departed for Rome. It might not be a freshly painted A330, but I still love the BAe 146 so I was happy to see it.

After changing my spot I coincidentally caught a very weird special livery promoting the AVIS car rental company on an Eurowings jet from Hamburg.

A bit more stylish but less special was one of Lufthansa Cityline’s A319s wearing the Star Alliance livery inbound from Milano.

The third special returned from a deportation flight to Bucharest - The only E190 of WDL Aviation wearing the fairly new German Airways brand.

Let’s finish the topic with two regular visitors to Munich in normal times that only returned to Munich a week ago. Air Dolomiti’s E190 from Italy…

…and SAS’s A320neo from Copenhagen that only just now took the role of the CRJ that was initially used to resume the airline’s service to Munich.

That’s it for today, but as you all know, it won’t be long until I spot again

My Equipment:

Canon EOS 80D
Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS II USM (99% of pics)
NEW: Canon EF 24-105mm f/4.0 L IS II USM (for wide angle pics)

Backup / Old Lenses

Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS (for the 1% of the cases where I needed a wide angle lens)
Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS STM (for the majority of my very old pics, bascially completely replaced by the 100-400 now)

You can follow me on twitter and Instagram to get more shots on a daily basis. Also, keep your eyes open on Flightradar24 where you might see some of my recent shots.

Almost as weird as that JAL face livery

Why? It’s just 1am on a weekend 🙃

Some really cool pictures and planes! Great to see the Government A321 from up close. Thanks for sharing!

Also the Air Dolomitic one is my personal favourite. Such a cool airline really well captured too!

Damn, just googled it, that looks really weird 😂

I was quite happy to catch the 321 since it was the only fleet member apart from the Global jets I was still missing in my collection👀

You’re really lucky (and committed). The A400M is the only one I have photographed so far (and that’s not even part of the white fleet).

Nothing but fantastic shots! What else could I expect though?

Awesome shots! Love your setup :)

Wow! They are some incredible pictures :)

More planes I guess 🤔 I already have some new, yet vague, plans for the rest of the month though 😉
