"Monitor Ground" ATC Instruction

This instruction is used in the real word at small airports when there is little traffic or where the tower controller might also be the ground controller (as we see frequently in IF). I don’t think this is a very important feature to have but I think it would be something nice to add to the controller’s toolbox. Let me know what you guys think. Again this would only be used in small, low-traffic airports.


how would you see it being used? For example once an ACRFT has landed would TWR instruct pilot to “monitor Ground” rather than “Contact Ground” ?

Exactly. Then tower, who like I said may also be the ground controller can focus on other things since there is little to to no ground traffic.
