My guess is that it helped indicate wether or not they’re down, since a couple of aircraft deploy them by themselves.

Got these two models. Did a little swap in my airport (Western 737 with one of the 2 PSA 727s). The empty shadowbox (not counting the planes) is a work in progress.

My first Revell model! It’s an old LH 747-100 from the year 1974. It is rare and nowhere else for sale. I need to buy new stickers though, the old ones are broken.
Let’s see how long this will take to be built…

Just a heads up, the stickers need to be dipped into hot water to work. When they’re ready, they’ll slide off the backing paper, and then you can place them over the model. After applying a softening solution (either Microsol or Mr. Mark Softer), let them dry up to 12hs, and then add a protective matt coat.

The fact that the model in general was not pre-built or broken is insane considering it’s from 1974! Good luck on finding stickers btw.
