As many games adapt to have mods maybe it is time for IF to join in?
Maybe have a team of approved modders to make planes like the Airport Editing Team we have! Then just have some people who approve it before it is published?
Or have a MODHUB?
Although i am sceptical of that as it may get out of hand!
Maybe we dont need mods at all!
WE ARE ONLY REFERRING TO SOLO HERE AS LIVE MODS WOULD BE OUT OF HAND!
I am unsure so please let me know your opinions below!
We do not need to mod IF it would possibly break the whole game if not do correctly and I don’t think IF devs would like it if we modded their master peice
MaxSez: Please, I’m old, what the hell is a “Modder/Modding” and a “MODHUB”. If it’s a “Game” thing I don’t want to know so Fagedboutit… Now if it’s just another level of Bizey little helper bee’s flitting about spreading dis and mis Information, Fahedbout it also. I like this “Simulator” just the way it is. Be Gone ingrates…
FSX, X-Plane 11, and P3D all have mods or add-ons.
It’s letting people access the game code and add things to it themselves, and they can distribute it to other players. You could add planes, features, game lighting, etc…
But it would be hard to do for mobile. And could definitely get out of hand. And I don’t think it’s needed for Infinite Flight, as the developers don’t rely on mods as quite a few other devs (especially desktop simulators) do.
The stock airports on X-Plane 11 and P3D can be horrible. We already know that since we use X-Plane 11 airport files as a base for our airports. A mod let’s you fix that, and desktop simulators are kind of based around modding in a way. Infinite Flight is not, and I don’t really want it to be.
Well, we’re talking about a feature and discussing whether or not it’s a good idea…
For the mobile version, I agree. However… it hasn’t exactly been confirmed that there will be a PC version, right?
We should be focusing on Infinite Flight being a mobile simulator.
MaxSez: I’m rather sensitive Dupee, Get a civil tounge in your face! I should Flag you but I’ll give you a pass this once due to your youth and odvious inexperience…
This would be a mess. No way the mods would allow this. Would create pure mayhem in minutes, even if it was in solo. Plus, if they release the game code, then that will make Infinite Flight more vulnerable to piracy.
My thoughts exactly. I don’t know too many apps that even let you mod them on a mobile phone… However, I can see mods being amazing for the PC version. I mean, what simulator / game doesn’t have mods nowadays? Let’s be a little open minded.
Eye candy mods wouldn’t hurt a soul. And if someone decides to install it, that’s their decision. Not to mention, mods are a big key in keeping many games and simulators alive if you think about it.
Yea, but flight simulators on PC can get boring or lifeless/featureless/lacking quick without mods now adays (X-Plane 11, P3D, FSX…) and, I don’t exactly want IF to start to go down that route.
@AIDoLS… I really have no interest what some APP Store airplane Game has to offer. To each his own, Go, do you Modding thing some place else.Hopefully you’ll never have the opportunity to doodle here.
I wasn’t talking about a App Store game…
I’m also not really a fan of Infinite Flight being open to mods.
Sorry, either I’m confused or you misunderstood.
I know that I shouldn’t be, but I gotta admit I’m a little hurt by your “Hopefully you’ll never have the opportunity to doodle here” comment. @Maxmustang
