Benito Juárez International Airport is my favorite airport and the busiest airport in Mexico. It is surrounded by mountains, making the approach challenging and interesting. I noticed that many people don’t know how MMMX works so I will show you how to use this airport.

Departures

The takeoff runways in MMMX are the 05L and 05R, the 05L is used for non-heavy aircrafts, the 05R is used for heavy and super aircrafts, rarely is used for International flights of non-heavy aircrafts that are parked in the Terminal 2. Be careful with departures, there are big mountains in the west, south and east so please use the charts. NOTE: Simultaneous operations in MMMX are not allowed (no parallel takeoffs and landings).

Arrivals

I recommend using the chart for the arrivals due to the mountains that surround Mexico City, please note that MMMX only use the runway 05R/23L for arrivals (less than the 1% of pilots land in the Runway 05L/23R). When runways 05L & 05R are in operation you can not intercept the end of the cone due to terrain in the vicinity. NOTE: Simultaneous operations in MMMX are not allowed (no parallel takeoffs and landings).

(Also, you forgot to add AeroUnion to the cargo list)

AeroUnion has their platform near the east remote platform, not in the yellow zone. We don’t have the livery in IF so I didn’t add this zone.

Really neat! I like to fly around Mexico, mainly from MMPR, so I’ll be sure to use this info when I fly form Cancun or Puerto Vallarta to Mexico City.
