Charter 747-8 from PHOG to PHTO. Spawned into PHOG and was told by ATC that the aircraft was too large for airport. Are mission aircraft assignments random? Was ATC right?

Hey, I was ATC, IFATC.org tells me 744 is the largest aircraft for PHOG🤷♂️
Are the 744 and 748 different aircraft categories? (Ex: E vs F)
Yep but the 748 and 380 are the same

I just question some of the a/c types for the Missions. Like if they were just randomized.

Here’s the blog article post for the UI changes which were incorporated in update 23.2 below. You can read a little more about missions there. I believe from what I’ve heard that they plan to make more improvements on later iterations with different variables to suggest missions, but for now this is just the preliminary version

It’s great you’re utilizing this website for such things. I’ve encountered this before. However, what I’ve found is that some aircraft that it says are too big, you can in fact spawn with those aircraft. What I’m thinking and have discussed is that while accurate ifatc.org is, it may not always be completely updated. Therefore, in the past, if an aircraft can spawn there, I’ve let it go and that has seemed to be in agreement with other members I’ve had conversations with.

No problem! I think it’s a matter of controlling in perhaps smaller locations to get the feel. A good example is EDLW (Dortmund) where it is accurate.
