I noticed today that Ometepe Airport (MNLP), which is on Ometepe (a volcanic island in Nicaragua) is missing from the sim. You can see it on the scenery, but it’s not marked as an airport you can spawn at or even one that has a runway.
It should have a 4,900 foot long runway with a small terminal building. The airport isn’t super new either - it was opened in May of 2014.
There are a lot of airports that are missing (the number is really really big). But unfortunately there’s no way to add new airports with current scenery editor.
We need to wait for the devs to add a new system. It will take a while since it’s not a high priority
I could be wrong about this, but I think Ometepe airport is a fairly new airport, but there’s also a lot of airports not in the sim anyways.

Tulum (MMTL) is a new airport it hasn’t even been operating for a year and was added in 24.3 I’m pretty sure
There was an old closed airport nearby (MM49), editor moved the airport and changed the code

Yeah sadly there is a lot of Commercial airports that aren’t in IF, From just about every country in the world including the United States like KBPT Airport. The number of Commercial airports not in the sim is especially huge in places like China. I dream of the day we are able to create new airports in the sim!

That’s awesome! That part of the world is so incredible, and I did a little GA Flyout around Ometepe this evening. Very cool to fly around those volcanoes.
