Miami Plane Spotting

Hello IFC’ers. This is a topic I should’ve posted a few days ago but my laziness has taken over. But now I have gathered up the motivation to make this topic. On the morning of Super Bowl Sunday, after dropping my mom off at the airport for her flight to Cali @NonStopsAviation summon, my dad and I made our way over to the viewing area by runway 9. Enjoy these shots you’re about to see!

Starting things off we have a go around! Pilot decided it would be better to attempt the landing again

Next up we have a KAL Cargo 777 departing for Campinas, Brazil

After that is an Avianca Cargo A330-200 touching down after a long overnight trip from Santiago de Chile

2 straight AA 737-800s. The first one was from San Juan which was the one that did the go-around. The second one came from Detroit

After that I was able to call myself lucky enough to see this. One of the last remaining MD-80 series aircraft that are still in service to this day.

Another AA 737-800 this one coming in from D-F-W @Mason_Lennox summon

next up it’s the queen of the skies stealing the spotlight! this Atlas Air 747-400 departing for Chicago O’Hare

I was watching flight radar and I literally dropped down to the floor and started sobbing and having my daily crashout (those in the tuff chats know) when i realized it was on approach for runway 12 rather than runway 9 but regardless I was able to catch its arrival from Dubai

And concluding this topic we have an Atlas Air 747-8 on takeoff

I hope you enjoyed this topic. I will be sharing the spotting video here once it’s finished. Stay tuned and have a great rest of your day!

@Jger @SoFloAviator

Old aircraft are pretty common at MIA in general

Old 767-200s used to fly to Santo Domingo with the Eastern Airlines startup every month

lol like every aircraft uncommon to the world is common at MIA, ex: remember the cargo DC-8s?

Oh yeah, they are really common on the north side of the airport

the north side of the airport is where you’ll find all those planes sitting around. Here are some bonus shot I was able to capture

I thought only American aircraft occupied that area (I was mainly referring to the very north side past the runways)
