As I was scrolling through old pictures, I found two screenshots of the old cockpits of the 737 and 777. I remember how big of an update it was for me once they were reworked. I think it was in Summer 2020? Thought I might give you some nostalgia:

I remember I once flew a b737 to space and the old cabin showed up instead of the new updated one. Quite surprising how good (relative) the quality on the old model was.

I love the new cockpits but it feels like the shadows are missing-

Well the Devs are working on a new light system with reflections and shadows (I think).
This would solve the issue that I also have with the new cockpits. But with the realistic lighting this would be solved.
At least we got something to anticipate to👀

i think what happened is that the sim thought you were far from the cockpit so it showed the lower quality version, just like the cockpits of other users in multiplayer. I think its the level of detail, used to improve performance
