News over the last couple of days is that Tullamarine International is finally getting a 3rd runway parallel to RNWY 34/16. This will open up more Traffic, Passengers and hopefully more airlines. Will be built by 2031-2033 and will also come with the long awaited airport train line which will also come around this time, as said by the CEO of MEL.
That is amazing!
During my recent trip the need to take a bus to the airport was less than favorable, Iām excited to have the option to take a train eventually. The only downside to this is that if the third runway is used for departures it seems it will greatly increase taxi times.
