Medium Haul routes in the Middle East/Middle East-Africa: Suggestions?

In order to diversify myself from my usual American and European routes, I would like the collective mind of the IFC to suggest me some routes (with flight numbers if possible) in the Middle East and Middle East/Africa, preferably in the B737NG family, B38M, A220, E190 and the A320 family, which are the aircraft I’m most familiar with.

For the Middle East, I would say that flydubai’s B38M has a lot of interesting medium routes in the region you mentioned. Some notable examples include:

  • Dubai - Nairobi (4 hours and 39 minutes)
  • Dubai - Zanzibar - Dar Es Salaam (4 hours and 50 minutes + 18 minutes)
  • Dubai - Entebbe (4 hours and 59 minutes) [This route is operated by both FDB B738 and B38M]
  • Dubai - Alexandria (3 hours and 43 minutes)
  • Dubai - Beirut (3 hours and 19 minutes) [This route is operated by both FDB B738 and B38M]

Air Arabia’s A320 also flew to the same destinations I listed above from Sharjah (except for Dar Es Salaam and Zanzibar). However, they also fly to interesting airports in the region, such as Bosaso in Somalia (2 hours and 30 minutes, G9660) and Assiut in Egypt (3 hours and 37 minutes, G9705).

You can explore more of Air Arabia’s destinations on the following website

Royal Air Maroc’s B38M also fly to some interesting destinations within the MENA region, such as Brazzaville (6 hours and 20 minutes), Kinshasa (6 hours and 17 minutes), Malabo (around 5 hours), Luanda (6 hours and 41 minutes), Ouagadougou (3 hours and 13 minutes), and Cairo (between 4:30 and 5 hours).
