MD11 High Altitude Thrust Issues

Hello IFC, not sure where this one goes. My MD11 flight from KMEM-KBOS started normally, but once I hit 36,000 feet, the autopilot stalled me and I was in a minor stall. I had to perform an emergency landing at KBNA. It’s very annoying and happens on most planes. Any ideas as to why this may be happening?

It’s probably because you were to heavy for that altitude.

I recommend reading through this tutorial.

You may have been within the take off limit, but you were probably still too heavy for the cruise altitude.

Look at it this way, can you run faster up a flight of stairs with a backpack full of books or can you run faster with no additional weight on you as such. The lighter you are, the easier it is to get higher up. Wait until you burn some weight off (fuel) before going higher. 🙂
