Don’t think so, each MD-80 variant was different in length and performance, much like the CRJs.

Nope, I don’t think so, pretty sure it was only on the inside, like engines/fuel/weight, not sure if IF changes performance based on engine types though.
Pretty sure the MD-87 is the only MD-80 with an exterior difference. (Not counting tail cones, that’s a different story)

I HOPE so, this would be the perfect plane to add to IF if they decided to add something old for one of their updates, would be nice to see a change for once. (Yes I know the 757 and maybe upcoming (judging by the votes) are pretty old, but still)

Exactly i would support this as the MD80 still has quite a few current operators of the different variants while the B717 only has 2 current operators both planning on retiring them and Qantas which retired theirs in October.
I hope they will keep it until they add the MD-80 though, since I think I might remember them saying that they might remove very old (as in made in 2012 for example) planes from the game. (Don’t really remember it that well though like I said)

Today’s entry for “I Didn’t Know They Flew These” is Northwest Airlines’s MD-80s. The airline inherited 8 MD-82s from its merger with Republic Airlines in 1986, operating them until they were retired in 1999 as their leases expired and were replaced with the A320-200. Would go great with the Northwest 747-200, A319-100, DC-10-30, and CRJ-900.
