Some of them have the same altitude, I hope this helps you with how high these airplanes can go! I hope this helps anyone who is curious of the Max Altitude of each aircraft in Infinite Flight. This can also be used once Global comes out for long haul flights. If this helps, great! If It doesn’t, hmmm… I don’t know what will.

If this is somehow a Duplicate, you can close it

Sorry if it is :(

Awesome! I’d also like to note that many of these aircraft do not regularly go to the service ceiling in commercial flight. With the exceptions (that I’ve seen) being the 787-8, a330-300, a340-600, and 737-700.

I’m most surprised about these two! Crazy how aircraft of that age have the ability to go higher than some modern day jets (CRJ, Dash 8, etc.)

Great topic as well. Bookmarked!

This is so interesting - the different in heights

Generally, the Dash-8 isn’t trying to avoid flack and anti-aircraft fire.

It’s 2017. Anything is possible.

Yes, I suppose that’s sadly true.

The Shuttle Carrier at a low 15,000 surprised me!!
Also, I can’t believe the 717 can only go up to 37,000, not 38-40!

Wow, I’m speechless…

Well I know that its FL398? not FL410

On my flight back home FLL-ISP on a Southwest 737 we cruised at 41000 feet

The shuttle carrier literally has a SPACE SHUTTLE on top of it? How are you surprised??

Wow, this is pretty good. I cant get it this high to be honest. I bookmarked your post, it is super useful for me. Thank you.

Incredible! I can’t get it to 20,000 feet without stalling!

Just because these are the maximum service ceilings doesnt mean you should be flying the aircraft at these heights. Rarely do any of the commercial long hauls go above 41,000ft and then those are long haul and ultra long haul routes. If you were to look at FR24 right now you would only see one commercial flight operating above 41,000ft (currently LAN576 a 787-8 from Santiago to Bogota) The fact of the matter is that most of the time it is not economical to climb to those ceilings. So case in point, dont think just because global is out that you should be operating every flight at the service ceiling or even close to it. You’ll find that FL360-FL390 for long haul flights is enough while FL310-FL360 is enough for short haul to medium haul flights.

Shuttle carrier is very interesting - the very high drag, extra weight, and imbalance caused by the shuttle prevent it reaching a maintainable airspeed higher than 15,000; and the extra lift created by the shuttle wings can cause some weird issues (such as the front nose lifting at 60 knots)

Bookmarked. Thanks for this

In the US the max an aircraft will go is FL410, however it isn’t totally uncommon for some 787-8’s outside of the US to climb to FL430.

No problem :), I hope this serves you well!
