MaxFacts: Controllers Identity on TS-1

MaxSez: This is not a TS-1 complaint just a suggestion. Had an interesting TS-1 uncoordinated Approach into Heathrow a few minutes ago.
The interchange between me, Approach & Tower was a comedy act. I was laughing so hard I went missed!
I’m fully versed in the nature of TS-1 and those who man it.
Being a helpful soul I wanted to PM the apparent Fledgling actors involved to discuss this vaudeville. There ID where not of record. Let me suggest that those who man ATC training position be required to join the Forum and have a Comm address established. Suggest a Reprogram, a Controlled Access sign in ID /Pin into the system for access to TS-1 ATC positions forthwith. The ability to ID all members who flit about the platform Is of critical organizational importance. Just saying!

(Based on feedback: To be clear, the purpose of this suggestion is to facilitate Controlled Access to the Controller training node, facilitate PM Communication and Accountability for TS-1 Controllers in training Only. It has no impact on IFATC or Pilots in general. Please read the commentary closely.)

Absolutely yes! 100% in support of this. This would certainly cut down on a lot of the complaints and aid in cleaning up some of the issues that so many of us witnessed and struggled over understanding for some time now. You get my vote Sir. Bravo Zulu!

I would add this idea to the expert server pilots as well. Whether it be to report, discuss beef via pm or post a simple gesture of compliment, I see having this information available as being as vital as having the ability to contact controllers on ts/expert.

I partially agree - but being able to report ATC is a baaad, baaaad idea. People will report ATC for long waits, go arounds, 360s, check help pages, any and everything

I don’t know how I feel about this one Max. If we make ATCs to register on the forum it will seem that IF is the kind of app that in order to use, you’d have to register to like 10 different sites. Also some controllers are trolls on TS1 and are probably not capable of speaking English. Albeit, if executed correctly I see how this can benefit both the ATC and the Pilot.

The bigger thing is that there is no requirement to be a member of IFC before controlling. You can have people who have never seen this website control on TS1.

This is literally why we want the idea.

Not a tech expert but I could swear the forum is 1 site, not 10

Can have? I reckon at least 90% haven’t seen the forum

I had this exact idea too, but you said it much nicer, you have my vote.
Like I said many times,
TS server is to practice for the expert server, but many people don’t know that and just start “controlling”, while they probably don’t even want to become an IFATC. So if people want to become an IFATC join the IFC, control and learn.

But them being trolls they wouldn’t care to listen to you…

After enough issues they would likeely receive a warning

Registering as a user on one website, being this one in order to use the ATC function is an excellent idea. It’s certainly not too much to ask and it has the potential to take a step forward in improving everyone’s online experience. This isn’t about reporting ATC as in pilots will be complaining and ranting about them. This is about accountability. If one is held accountable for their actions it acts as a deterrent to behave like a nimrod. There isn’t any downside here, a forum username is free and extremely easy to obtain and use.

@CyLyric… MaxSez: Respectfully, This suggestion has nothing to do with Expert Pilots or Controllers. If you have an issue in that area please state it in a separate Topic.
You’ve mixing Apples with Oranges. Appreciate your feedback but your suggestion deviated widely from the issue at hand. .

Most of the time I play as an ATC Ground or Tower (not IF Rated) and I try to do a good job, specially because the more I play the more I learn (I know something). But there are times I play as a pilot (Grade 4) and… oh man… those ATC instructions are so wild haha, cheers man, I agree with this.

70% of the time they actually don’t follow your instructions and just create a mess into approaches. =(

@Grizpac. MaxSez: Odviously you failed to read the initial comment closely. Suggestions where not solicited., thus off topic. It had nothing to do with quality of service on TS-1 thus you advertisement for IFTSATC is misplaced and also off topic.
Your Group is doing a fine job and is a credit to the community. I conclude each of your members has a Forum addressable ID, good show. Regards, Max

Deleted. Not my intent. Sorry.

@Maxmustang I’d like to take your suggestion one step further as per this previous (now closed) thread and say anyone with a live account should also be directed to, and made to create a forum account, or to simplify it, make it the one log in / profile.

I used IF for about 3 years until I ever really even looked at this community forum.

Im sure he did not intend to adverise our group, people come to us if they want to, we dont obligate peoplento join, and thanks for the compliment, we strive to train out controllers and get them fit to control for the expert server.

@Cpt_Chris… MaxSez: I believe my response to @Grizpac was spot on, his comment did not answer my mail. Any criticism taken is unfortunate. Mr. Grispac’s comment was off topic and flagable, I choose not to flag as a courtesy, I understood his intent and have great respect for him and your training initiative which includes your loyal membership. Mr. Grispac’s decision to delete his comment was his alone. I always write my Topic with full confidence that there accurate, well considered and understandable as far as there content is concerned. This incident to will pass. Your defense of your loyal member is commendable!
