MaxChoice: The Russian Flanker, a NATO Match!

MaxSez: The Flanker would be an exceptional addition to the IF Fighter Inventory. Some consider the SU-30 a match or superior to the NATO line up. Put her in the IF inventory, F-15/18 watch out in a Fur Ball!

Agree this should be added looks very similar to the F15 in my honest opinion just a little more longer

@N881RA. F-15, Don’t think so…

Yes please! Probably my favourite airplane ever - graceful lines, probably the pinnacle of classic fighter designs that pushed aerodynamic refinements to its limits, great manoeuvrability and versatility. Would make a superb addition, and a lot of fun

I meant the design reminds me of it

Very manouverable fighter jet! Google Pugachev’s Cobra turn and you will find some cool videos.

While in a head to head dogfight the Russians would thrash the US, the New F22 and F35 are more about stealth, with the F35 being able to identify a Sukhoi from over 130 miles compared to the Sukhoi’s 30 miles. The modern US fighters have a “see and not be seen” and early strike characteristics compared to the more traditional Russian ones

@Insertusernamehere… MaxSez: “Head to head Thrash”, USvRU…LOL… Pretty strong statement. Remember it’s the system not the man/machine today. The days of the Dog Fight are long gone! Modern encounters are now many system dependent many over the horizon with a system lock. The day of the head to head maneuvering gun fights are history.

It’s probably best to compare any of the Su-27 family to the F-15 family, as the original was intended to counter the F-15 in the heavy air superiority role, and evolved in a similar manner. It’s a child of the previous generation, but that doesn’t mean we can’t give credit where it’s due :)
