That is very sad, but it can happen pretty easily here in Arizona because most people live in valleys.

The Van’s RV-7 and RV-7A are two-seat, single-engine, low-wing homebuilt airplanes sold in kit form by Van’s Aircraft. The RV-7 is the tail-wheel equipped version, while the RV-7A features a nose-wheel type (Wiki)

This is horrible and my prayers go out to the victim’s families+friends. Also a reminder to everyone on here to be very careful when piloting an aircraft!
