I have a few friends that are firefighters up there and they say that the winds are pushing the fire. The assignment was upgraded 4 times so far bringing in mutual aid from sourrounding fire agencies to assist with extinguishment and confinement of the fire.

Appears to be the APU and one of the fan assemblies from the twin engines.

Oh wow. Tetterboro isnt a rural area, a jet going down off airport can be serious.

Yea, this section of North Jersey is very crowded. The plane went down on the grounds of a public works facility in which employees left approximately 30 minutes before the crash.

Video taken from grounded planes at Teterboro. These pilots were stuck here watching in horror as fellow comrades went down.

Does anybody know the cause of the crash?

I think it’s pretty safe to say it’s waay too early for anyone to know that.

Yeah, same exact thing for me as well :(

Was watching the news, apparently people saw the plane upside down before it crashed.

I don’t care who what where when and why, I don’t trust a non-aviation expert / enthusiast to be able to give an accurate description of what happened

MaxSez: Speculation: check the METAR. Gusts to 35k, Ceiling 045 scattered, smoke on Approach. Appear they picked the crash sight in a PW yard. Time will tell, Weather will be a factor I’ll bet. Wait for the Box (s) readout.

I live across the Hudson, and the METAR was pretty close to TEB’s at HPN. The wind was definitely pretty bad today, so I’m thinking that played a role.
