Managing KJFK

Alright. Here is my next post, on John F. Kennedy International Airport. This airport is used quite often in IF and many players/pilots do not know the correct procedures.

  • Departing runways 13R/31L, 13L/31R, 4L/22R
  • If taking off from 31L or 31R, after liftoff turn left for the Canarsie Climb
  • If takeoffs are on 13L/R, expect long taxi times
  • If takeoffs are on 4L/22R and 4R/22L, only use 4L/22R for departing

  • Landing runways 13R/31L, 13L/31R, 4L/22R, 4R/22L
  • If landing on 13L/13R, use the Parkway Visual
  • If landing on 4L/22R and 4R/22L, heavies use 4L/22R and smaller aircraft use 4R/22L just the same as departures
  • If you are landing on runway 22L and weather permits, you may use the Belmont Visual

  • The airport is usually somewhat busy, so keep things moving along
  • Do not overload the ATC, be patient ( this is for every airport

Hopefully you guys can find this helpful. I will do only airports I am familiar with, so that is most airports in North America. Please feel free to point out any errors in my work, I will edit it if I need to.

Where do you get your information? I need to start studying up on this.๐Ÿ˜…

This isnt entirely true. When winds favor runways 13L and Runway 22R, they are used for landings, with 22R serving inbounds from mostly European cities and 13L handling most of the traffic. Unless I am mistaken myself and interpreted that wrongly. Other than that this is pretty accurate ;)

KJFK only departs using Runways 4L, 31L, 13R, and 22R

If taking off from 31L, after liftoff turn left for the Canarsie Climb

As mentioned previously, 4R and 22L are never used

KJFK often uses intersecting runways for departures and/or arrivals (Eg: 13R Dept and 22L Arr)

Besides this, great job analyzing John F. Kennedy Intl Airport! ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Special Exceptions Apply As Always ๐Ÿ˜‰

Please send this to my pm๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿพโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿพโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Alright. I have spotted at this airport ans have never seen this. Thank you for letting me know :)

Thank you! So 4R/22L is never used for anything? The Canarsie Climb thing is obvious, I was just tired of typing so much lol

Runways 4R and 22L are used for arrivals only.

For the airlines/terminals, I use wikipedia. For departing/approaching, I use flight aware and my own knowledge.

Youโ€™re right, except they use 22L

Nice to see jfk covered,i just started doing these ,Iโ€™m gonna do KSEA next
