I always make sure to thank ATC, not just when they’re about to close but just when I’m at the gate finishing the flight, always feels good to thank them for the service
It’s always so cool to see when a radar controller is closing a frequency and see the entire ATC log flooded with TYGDs
Number one rule: IF there is ATC after you have completed your flight, always send a thank you, good day!
How antisocial it is to say “you’re welcome” to a “thank you, good day”…
I always try to say TYGD to ATC but it’s also nice to hear them say it to you as the pilot. The flying is stressful too especially in busy airspace where you are dodging and weaving through traffic and the even more stressful part, buttering your landing to look like a professional at a busy airport.
