Malaysia MD-11 Engine Type

In IF, the Malaysia Airlines MD-11 features General Electric engines, yet, a closer look reveals they have Pratt & Whitney logos on them. In real life, that aircraft (N271WA) had P & W engines, so maybe that’s the real issue. I realize this is minor, but felt it should be mentioned in the name of realism. Either way, I love the MD-11 and will continue flying it.

So the engines don’t look like they should then?

I might add that this is common on a lot of aircraft types, sometimes it wasn’t done because it’s a lot of work to make a new engine model however it’s best to wait for the devs response.

Depending on the airline, both engine types are already featured in IF. FDS has its engine bases covered.

And the DC-10 was kind of copied and pasted. Although I love them both and will always thank the devs for bringing them the original Dc-10 never had a landing gear in the middle of both gears. And the cockpit is copied from the MD-11. Don’t know if they meant to have the DC-10-30 but if it is that they should have specified

If my knowledge serves me, the DC-10-30 had the additional center main landing gear. I’m pretty sure this is the version we have in the sim.

The dc-10-30 did have the additional gear but now that I think about it, it did not have the glass cockpit instruments. So we basically have the MD-10 version of it in IF.
