The entitlement in “hurry up” is crazy. We volunteer our time for this, you don’t pay us, Staff don’t pay us, and nobody owes you a deadline. Editors work on airports when they have the time, and staff understand that
You were the one who brought up VIDP, so you can’t dismiss the comparison the moment someone points out that finishing VIDP didn’t magically give you an Air India livery. That was literally the point. Airport completion and livery selection are two separate things
We contribute to the community, we don’t work for you. There’s a difference

He’s literally just pointing out that the MH A330neo thread has pretty much the same amount of votes as the ITA one and wondering why it hasn’t been added, so I don’t really get why you felt the need to tell him to “hurry up” and finish WMKK. That’s just unnecessary, especially when WMKK is something people are working on voluntarily in their own time. You can disagree with what he’s asking for or think something else should be prioritised, but there’s really no need to talk to him like that. The livery request and WMKK are completely separate things.

thats why the application exists, there probably like a total of 100 airport editors they’re not going to accept random people no point in applying when there’s basically no way of getting in. if yall want to contribute to the community, finish WMKK then its basically done atp

Passing an application gives us permission to contribute, not an employment contract with the community. “Not my job, but hurry up and do yours” is a pretty wild standard for unpaid volunteers
And unless the developers actually confirmed that the MH livery is tied to WMKK’s release, you’re treating your own assumption like a fact

I get what you’re saying, but that still doesn’t really justify the way you said it to him in the first place. If you think the livery will come with WMKK, you could’ve just led with that instead of telling him to hurry up and finish it.

If finishing a major airport were as easy as you make it sound, you’re welcome to apply and rebuild WMKK yourself. We’ve gathered over 500 reference photos and watched countless videos just to recreate it accurately
Then everything still has to meet IFAET standards and be checked again and again for building shapes, taxiways, markings, gates, objects, naming, geometry, and other issues…
“Just finish WMKK” is easy to say when you’re not the one doing hundreds of hours of research, editing, reviewing, and fixing

Just saying what needed to be said. We understand the community’s frustration, but we also have our own lives outside of editing like school, work, family, and other… If working on WMKK were a paid job, then sure, we’d probably be spending 8 hours a day on it. But this is volunteer work, so progress depends on the free time we actually have

Not specifically related to the topic, but yesterday I saw the twice daily MH A330-900neo being temporarily replaced by an MH A350-900. I’d like to see the A330neo in the MH livery as all I see are generic A330neo’s flying between KL and Brisbane/Auckland in the game.
