Making a 360

Hi all, how would you go about requesting a 360 to approach/tower if you’re overweight and your aircraft doesn’t allow fuel dumping and you need to lose some extra weight before touchdown as is IRL?

Thanks!

Hey Joshua,

There is no way to request a 360 on the pilot’s end. Ultimately it is the pilot’s responsibility to ensure you are comfortably below Max Landing Weight when it comes time to land, especially if in an aircraft that doesn’t have the ability to dump fuel.

Thank you for the reply!

So im currently 20mins out from VABB and i’d assumed i’d be comfortably under the MLW however, i’m not. So would you say just do your own 360 prior to making inital contact w/ approach?

First check your surroundings to ensure you won’t conflict with any aircraft - then yes the best thing to do would be to make sure you are below MLW prior to contacting ATC.

Good day fellow pilots and ATC. I believe this was a great question asked. I also had a question about a 360. When ATC requests you to do a 360 will that show up on your map while your piloting . Thank you in advance for any assistance given to this question.

No it won’t. It’s like a normal vector in a way, but just doing a 360° loop to return to the heading you were on beforehand.

Contrary to a holding pattern which will show up on the map.

Roger..do we hand fly the hold or will the auto pilot be able to execute it

You have to hand fly holding patterns at this time - the autopilot is “incapable” of doing them.

Roger. I appreciate the clarification.

I pushed many times the feature request for holding but still not ingame yet. Hope it’s gonna come someday :flexed_biceps:t2:

It would probably require at the same time significant changes to how the autopilot behaves, which is a big task.

Yeah… I‘ve made a radar in HTML with 99% ChatGPT effort (blame me). It made me one entire day to make they understand how I wanted the hold feature to works. Still have a minor issue but well. Some things are really challenging to build
