Lufthansa shows 100th anniversary livery on the 787

Hello everyone!

Lufthansa recently showed some pictures of the new 100th anniversary livery on one of their 787s, registration D-ABPU. It will fly in this livery starting from December, with the new Allegris cabin.

Lufthansa got created by a company merger in 1926, and they will celebrate its 100th anniversary on the 6th January 2026, with this livery, a new museum at the Frankfurt airport with a L-1649 and Ju-52 on display, and more. Here is a picture

The new livery features a white “100” on the underside of the belly, where the gear is located, with a large white crane on both sides on a blue background and a “1926” and “2026” near it.

What do you think about the livery? I think it’s nice, but let’s hear your opinion.

Thanks for reading, clear skies and goodbye!

I would have preferred the 100th Anniversary livery to be in a painted natural metal scheme, like in the Junkers Ju 52/3ms, maybe even name it Manfred von Richthofen or some other name.

That would have been very nice, but for that we are getting a restored Ju52 instead.

Personally, I would have liked to have seen some yellow in this livery, just like in their previous livery. However, I cannot complain about it, as it looks quite nice!!
