As the largest passenger operator of the 747 with 27 of the type in service (8x 747-400s and 19x 747-8Is), Lufthansa serves a number of destinations across North America, South America, Africa, and Asia with the big Boeing quadjets from its main hub in Frankfurt, Flughafen Frankfurt Main (FRA/EDDF). One of these destinations is Singapore’s Changi Airport, home to Star Alliance partner Singapore Airlines, which itself has 2 daily flights to FRA, one of which has a 5th Freedom leg between Frankfurt and New York City. Recently, the FRA-SIN route has switched over to the rarer 747-400, but the most common type seen at the airport is the -8I.
