Low visibility issues

Version Information

26.1 15461

Device Information

Oneplus12 ColorOS16.0

Description

The actual visibility in the beta seems much lower than it shows. In fig1,it shows that I can hardly see the runway at 500ft while the visibility is 30km.Fig2 and 3 show that i can see much further at the same visibility in version 25 than in the beta.
What’s more ,the ILS glide slope instructor can’t been seen clearly in the day when the visibility is low in the beta.Fig4 and 5 show the difference between the current version and the beta.

I have just been looking to see if anyone else has noticed this. Definitely noticing a lot more foggy/low visibility conditions on the Beta, they do seem quite unrealistic annoyingly.

Hello! I think that what you are experiencing is snow! Currently we do not have a full weather system in Infinite Flight, so snow, rain etc. is not modeled. The fog is there to replace it, for now. In 25.2, the fog is kinda bad, so with the new revamp, it may seem unrealistic. Keep in mind many airports up north have around 1-4 visibility irl die to heavy snow. Remember, we are in winter. Have a good new years.

Hey atleast is something different than your typical dull final approach, love the challenge.

snow doesn’t magically change the visibility on different versions of the app. snow it self is one of different precips/fog that determine the visibility posted on the metar, which should be reflected in infinite flight. snow, doesnt exist so there shouldn’t be changes to the visibility like there is currently in the beta. it is unrealistic currently

It would be, though. Remember that heavy snow can reduce visibility to around 300m. And it’s not magically changing, just adapting to the real weather.

In most cases though, the airport with fog is too far to the south to experience snow. I’m talking about airports all over China and USA that have fog 90% of time. In the beta app, the visibility there is almost always an unconvincing fixed number (10sm for the US and 6sm for China) even when the weather irl and in fr24 is “clear”. I think it is more like some bug that limits the visibility ceiling to a lower number instead of the usual 21sm.

odd… Sometimes there is too much fog in the stable version, but not as much.
