This is what 700m visibility looks like.
For all users who will fly to an airport with low visibility, good luck and have a safe flight! 😉
And dont crash!

Saw it last night already, while Landing in Jersey. Insane fog. And the fun thing is, when I look out of my window here in Belgium, it is indeed those exact weather conditions!
It’s very misty here in the UK atm!.
An EasyJet flight from Manchester to Jersey circled for a while before diverting back to Manchester due to the weather:
Right now there is a Smartwings Boeing 737 MAX 8 circling near Jersey as well.
Just a bit foggy… 😶🌫️
What app can I use to check weather for airports as shown on the photo by @Dub_aviation
There are plenty of apps and websites - the easiest way is to simply search “XXXX METAR” (e.g EGLL METAR) in a browser and just click on one of the top results - it will tell you the current weather and give a forecast for the next few hours.
Metar and Taf Is the app I used, I use this for all of my IF lights and flights on different sim.
Thanks I’ll check out the weather
I heard some planes holding over my house today because of the low visibility. I like the foggy weather though.
EDDF is full of fog too
Planning to fly LGAV-EGCC tomorrow, hopefully the low vis will stay until then.
cleared visual approach runway 27 - good luck
Still foggy in Brussels, also due to ice forming expected delays on Brussels Airport. They’re trying to salt the runways as we speak.
Just by coincidence I did a flight (IF) out of Brussels yesterday, not looking for challenging weather as a reason for the flight. Taxi thru takeoff and ascent were very interesting low visibility conditions. Taxi lines and map reliance made it that much more immersive. Later this topic appeared. It’s cool to see real reports of weather like yours following what one encounters first on an IF flight for other reasons.
Yeah, it’s always nice to see IF change with how the world changes irl. If you use the wind aloft feauture and use surface level winds, you can easily see the cyclones and hurricanes in the server that correspond to real life.
