Louverture.EU's Radar Tracking Thread - [CLOSED] @ N/A

Ola,

I am currently training for the IFATC Officer status. If it is possible please drop by and give your feedback regarding the following topics:

  • Terrain bust – Terrain separation of 1000 AGL must be maintained at all times.
  • Separation bust – Horizontal 3nm and Vertical 1000ft separation must be maintained at all times between aircrafts .
  • Intercepting issues – ILS
  • Traffic Management – For example, extremely large separation or unnecessary long downwind.

are you already IFATC?

Yes they are, to train for officer you must be an IFATC Specialist.

ok but if you are IFATC you can’t fly on the TS.

Your allowed to fly in TS, but you can’t control in TS. Your allowed to start a thread if your training for the radar aspect, they are not really controlling like it’s part of a schedule like ES.

Feedback from N1322K:

first of all: I haven’t read the ATC Manual for Radar Controllers, I’m just comparing it to what I’ve expirienced on the ES so far.

  • You kept all communications to the minimum, which is good when you start to get more traffic

  • The only thing I noticed, was the handoff. It was very early in my opinion. I think you should wait until I’m at least past my first waypoint on the approach.

  • Apart from that I didn’t notice any mistakes.

If you feel like, I said something wrong, feel free to correct me. I’d love to know how the actual rules are :)
