Still who is it
As you mentioned this is on training server and to be honest KLAX is one of the worst airports to control at, if you’re looking for people to follow your instructions on the training server.
If you future goal is to become IFATC, I strongly recommend creating an ATC Tracking Thread and opening up at quieter airports across the globe. In an ATC Tracking Thread people can fly patterns for you and provide you with feedback and areas for improvement.
It is training server and you will come across some people that might not know what the ATC instructions mean, or people that just ignore them… especially at larger airports such as KLAX and EGLL.
I do not get what are you saying.
25R is the most common, and convenient runway at LAX on TS1. People use it because its close to the gate, and because they like to show of their horrible landings jk. I don’t think that will ever change.
Alright Thanks I was just sending a message. ps: It is getting better now like 75 percent of people land On 25L.
😔 It’s the training server unfortunately and that’s what people do. It’s a shame really. I would create ATC Tracking Thread so community members will come to the airports you open, we know our stuff and can help you out in the future! Maybe event wanting to control on expert? Check the thread below to get you started with it I know it’s annoying but the Traning server is for learning so people are new and don’t know how to help the controller. Don’t give up controlling! Hope to see you with a tracking thread and maybe on Expert? Good luck!
Yeah I use it only 1 percent of the time to show my butter landing ps: I can actually butter
Yeah no worries mate. If you do plan on becoming IFATC on the Expert Server in the future then creating a tracking thread would be the way to go.
I am going to be and IFATC Controller I have 4,000 + operations. PS: In the future.
In real life, doesn’t KLAX mostly use 24R? I think people just go to 25R because it is the closest to the terminal.
They us 24R and 25L mostly 25L for Heavy Aircraft and 24R for Smaller aircraft E.G 737, A320
Yeah no worries, I’m an IFATC Trainer and I strongly recommend starting a ATC Tracking Thread if you haven’t already, as that’s where most IFATC recruits start off from.
If you have any questions in regards to creating your own tracking thread, don’t hesitate to send me a PM, and I’ll happily help you out.
Oh this gives me flashbacks😂… I have controlled KLAX and EGLL a lot back when I wasn’t IFATC… I understand your frustration… but like it’s already been said join us!! If you need training @Declan_O is a really good trainer, hope to see you in the team soon ;)
i just landed there. The thing is the runway is very good for landing a big aircraft. What you should do is make it available to large aircrafts. R24r - R6l is very good for small planes. R24l - R6r is good for fighter jets, but should also be available to small passenger jets. R25r - R7l is good for big passenger aircrafts. eg, a McDonnell Douglas. R7r - R25l is very good for cargo. So the main reason why people prefer R25r is because it has 1,940,250fte2 in comparison to R24l which is 1,634,700fte2. there is a MASSIVE 305,550fte2 difference, which is why I prefer it. The only way to stop flights which do not require R25r is to ghost them. but if u are a nice guy like me, just remind them of NOTAM and redirect them to the required runway if they comply. Besides, Right now I am at KLAX Los Angeles and from what i see, many flight are also using R24l (UTC- 09:00:40 - 02:01:10 America Los Angeles). It probably also depends to the time of day. a lot of people do long flights and arrive at night because they started in the morning or during the day. This means they have big planes and want R25r. Small flights normally commence during the day. It is annoying, i know, but it is always fun to have to put up with trafic complexities.I mean, I love it when traffic is in a mess because that means I have to organise it therefore meaning I get to do something.
PS:hope my essay was not too long
Excellent point, but the question is: does the runway length even make that much of a difference to training server pilots?
We’ve all heard of the “A380 taking off from a gravel runway in the middle of nowhere” cliche, but one of the reasons why that’s so popular is because it’s true. Pilots will choose the runway that conveniences them the most, despite the fact that the runway may be too short for their aircraft. To them, it doesn’t matter; they can blast the throttles to 100% and be airborne within seconds.
I suppose some traffic might choose their runway based on length, but my main point is that we can’t entirely trust that there’s a direct correlation between aircraft type and runway length, especially with some of the behavior commonly found on the TS.
@TaipeiGuru Maybe it’s just a TS tradition? 🤷♂️
That, and the lack of experience/motivation for “realism.” :)
@Fyefoot_m I have no problem landing a A380 on 25L It only uses half of the runway
About a year or two ago I was told as long as the aircraft can spawn into the airport it is not the responsibility of ATC to worry about which runway the PIC chooses…(on the TS…no ATIS)… as far as the landing I’m assuming it’s the same concept
Can I suggest that it also has to do with experience and the pilot
