Loss of motivation

As of right now I am grade 4 and usually fly a lot by recently haven’t really had the energy to complete a flight. I always start a flight then end it after I take off and I don’t know why. Does this happen to anybody else and what should I do?

I think, sometimes, for some people, it is necessary to take a brief break from what you love so that when you come back, you can appreciate it even more, and sometimes, you fall totally in love with it once again. This is one step that I might recommend. Go read some books, hang out with friends, etc, instead of focusing on planes all day every day.

This happened to me once. I took maybe a week off of planes and watching plane videos and everything and then I came back… now that incredible love has stuck ever since 🤞

The problem is that I was going to party’s all the time not playing now it’s hard for me to start haha.

Oh okay 😂

So if you need to start, maybe go planespotting or take a tour of an airport. Heck, if you can afford it, take a day trip on a couple of short flights! Watch plane videos, or just do anything that might spark your love for aviation once again. I especially recommend the first three of these listed.

Do the things that invited the aviation bug to bite in the first place.

Another idea is to invite friends on your flight (Infinite Flight).

I’ve got to head off to bed, so unfortunately, I won’t be able to reply until morning. Feel free to send me a PM if you need to!

Sometimes you’ll just want to take a break. Remember, “it is not a sprint, but a marathon”.

Almost every successful person who has accomplished great results is able to do so because they persist long enough. They are consistent and never give up. Real success takes years to build.

Make sure you get enough rest and take a break when you need to. Understand your own capabilities and how much you can do. You will notice that after the rest, you will feel more energetic, more motivated, and are ready to take on the world again.

Same thing happened to me and what I did since my restrictions or not that high due to pandemic, with all my precautions I went plane spotting as @anon38496261 mentioned also I would love to see YouTube videos of air clips movies and also have fun on casual and take a break from actual flights just keep your love into Aviation and when the time is right go into commercial. You can even fly little VFR or pattern works with you favorite GA aircraft or even Military. Whenever the time is right take your steps and have a fun Infinite Flight Journey

I stopped this game after 3 months subscription and grade 4 (use another flight sim on mobile)

I find that finding ways to fly more and more professionnaly keeps me motivated. I now take almost as much time planning than flying and I still enjoy every bit of it. Maybe it can help. Otherwise, just leave and see.
Best wishes!

This has happened to me, I lost my motivation to complete a commercial flight. Now I go in a Cessna and just fly around the places I know. That’s one thing I haven’t lost, my love for general aviation.

It happens to me quite regularly, what I do is take for the time needed a total break from aviation and when I feel like it I look at P3D full flight videos which makes me wanna go back flying on IF ;)

Agreed. I remember taking a break to play RFS for months (I honestly don’t know why), and when I started playing IF again in March this year, I was flying nonstop.

@Slayerr I think it’s time to take you on a journey. We can plan a very very short flight together and maybe I can motivate you a little bit more.

I first played this game in November 2014. I liked it and bought my first subscription in December 2014, played for a month and left it. Then i played on and off for a month in a year max. I like this Game and will play it till i get bored. There is no compulsion to get motivated. Its not a job, its a game. Take a break as and when you feel like.

It happened to me recently and I just didnt want to fly at all. I just let my subscription run out and I only renewed it on Friday. The only thing is, since I had a lengthy break my landings have been terrible😂

MaxSez: It’s not motivation it’s a character flaw. That flaw is evidenced by your post seeking condolence and moral support from your peers.
Take a break. Go fishing, take a long walk or a good cry, A hiatus from IF is in order. Hope to see you in the big blue egg when you get your mind right.

Best of luck, Max
