Looming Possible Jet Fuel Shortage at Charlotte, Atlanta, and other Southeast/Mid Atlantic Airports

Due to the cyber attack of the colonial pipeline over this weekend shutting it down, which delivers half of the East Coast’s fuel supply, airlines are preparing for a possible fuel shortage. According to airliners.net, American Airlines has already planned some flights out of Charlotte to make fuel stops, with likely more to come. AA730 performing CLT-LHR tomorrow will be routed CLT-BOS-LHR, and a flight CLT-HNL will also have to make a fuel stop in Dallas. Charlotte is not the only airport serviced by this pipeline, Atlanta, Nashville, Baltimore, Washington/Dulles and smaller airports like BHM and GSP are as well. Stay tuned to this thread for updates.

This seams interesting. I hadn’t heard of the issue. Seems pretty bad. Hope they can get it going again soon.😉
