Longest range in IF

What’s the longest range aircraft in IF in practice?

I think the 777-200LR is supposed to be the longest range in paper but perhaps others outperform it?

Trying to make a non stop 10,100NM flight.

The Boeing 747-8 it can go for an estimated just over 23 hours on a full tank, make sure to not take any passengers or cargo if you want to full range of it.

Do you know which fighter jet has the longest range?

The F/A 18 has the longest flight time.

Not sure, but I know that 90% thrust is most efficient in jets.

Is that because it hasn’t been reworked or because it is actually the longest range jet?

From Wikipedia, I’d say if it’s reworked you might get better performance.

Performance F/A 18

  • Maximum speed: 1,034 kn (1,190 mph, 1,915 km/h) at 40,000 ft (12,000 m)
  • Maximum speed: Mach 1.8
  • Cruise speed: 570 kn (660 mph, 1,060 km/h)
  • Range: 1,089 nmi (1,253 mi, 2,017 km)
  • Ferry range: 1,800 nmi (2,100 mi, 3,300 km)
  • Service ceiling: 50,000 ft (15,000 m)
  • Rate of climb: 50,000 ft/min (250 m/s)
  • Wing loading: 93 lb/sq ft (450 kg/m2)
  • Thrust/weight: 0.96 (1.13 with loaded weight at 50% internal fuel)

Performance F22

  • Maximum speed: Mach 2.25 (1,500 mph, 2,414 km/h) at altitude
    • Supercruise: Mach 1.82 (1,220 mph, 1,963 km/h) at altitude
  • Range: >1,600 nmi (1,841 mi, 2,963 km) with 2 external fuel tanks
  • Ferry range: 1,740 nmi (2,000 mi, 3,220 km)

Performance F-16

  • Maximum speed: 795 kn (915 mph, 1,472 km/h) (M1.2) at sea level

  • Combat range: 295 nmi (339 mi, 546 km) on a hi-lo-hi mission with 4x 1,000 lb (454 kg) bombs

  • Ferry range: 2,277 nmi (2,620 mi, 4,217 km) with drop-tanks

  • Service ceiling: 50,000 ft (15,000 m) plus

  • g limits: +9 (limited by Flying control system)

  • Rate of climb: 50,000 ft/min (250 m/s)

  • Wing loading: 88.3 lb/sq ft (431 kg/m2)

  • Thrust/weight: 1.095 (1.24 with loaded weight & 50% internal fuel)

Performance F-14

  • Maximum speed: 1,342 kn (1,544 mph, 2,485 km/h)

  • Maximum speed: Mach 2.34

  • Combat range: 500 nmi (580 mi, 930 km)

  • Ferry range: 1,600 nmi (1,800 mi, 3,000 km)

  • Service ceiling: 50,000 ft (15,000 m) plus

  • Rate of climb: 45,000 ft/min (230 m/s) plus

  • Wing loading: 96 lb/sq ft (470 kg/m2)

  • Thrust/weight: 0.88

So the F22 seems to be the best but the ferry range on others is higher.

Thanks! This is super useful to calculate my flight path, looks like my choice of the LR was completely wrong.

You’re welcome mate. I hope you enjoy your flight.

RJTT-SBGR :) should be a lot of fun!

I’ll take a Jetstar livery in your honor

On a side note the 787-8 has a shorter range than the -9 and -10. Just thought I would throw that one in there.

Now I’m confused, I thought in the spreadsheet it indicates it has the longest range

But on Boeing’s website it has the longest range. Just remember IF is a simulator and that those times are just estimates.

Can’t an a380 go further?
Also I’m out of likes

Well according to the tests that DeerCrusher did it doesn’t.

Yeah I just read it. I guess the 747-8s go further… didn’t know that!
