A good tip is to put on low power mode and to stay at your device until you reach cruise altitude

Do it overnight, brightness all the way low, graphics low, anti-aliasing off, cockpit view of the floor or ceiling.

Always be sure to set an alarm. Overflying your destination is easy to do if you’re not paying attention.

Sleep or play on a different device to help kill time

My advice to you is do an overnight long haul. Set all settings you low and face the camera up in the sky while flying. Get to your cruising altitude and get everything on AP set up. Wake up 30-45 min before your expected to land. That’s what I do.
