If you need a way to farm XP and flight time, just do a long haul flight overnight. Make sure you use good judgment so that you take off when you go to sleep and are within 1 hour of your destination when you wake up. For example:
Some nights I fly from Logan Airport in Boston to Honolulu in Hawaii overnight in an Airbus A380. I take off around 8:30 AM and land around 7 AM, so its around 10 hours. I earn around 5,000 XP overnight. Make sure to plug in your device, turn the screen brightness down and turn your sound off to conserve battery. Also make sure to put in A LOT of fuel, and that you reach you cruising altitude before you go to sleep. Do NOT set your cruising speed more than 350 knots or M 0.88! You will get a lot of speed violations!. If you don’t want to risk getting speed violations when you don’t intend to, use the Casual server.
Remember:
Flights to the East fly at ODD number altitudes
Flights to the West fly at EVEN number altitudes
Things to keep in mind:
- YOU MUST BE IN A LIVE SERVER TO GET XP AND FLIGHT TIME! Flying solo will not grant you any XP or flight time.
- If you don’t want to risk getting violations, fly in the Casual server
- Plan a flight that will accommodate your wake up time and bed time
- Make sure you have an extra 2 hours of fuel for your flight time
- If you’re taking off, flying or landing in the dark, ALWAYS turn on your strobe lights
- If your flight time doesn’t accommodate your wake-up time, adjust the speed. Make sure you have around 1 hour left of your flight left once your wake up.
- Make sure you’re at cruising altitude before falling asleep
- Your device will charge slowly when flying
- Dim your devices screen, turn off the sound and put it in front of a fan so that it won’t overheat.
- Fly with an appropriate aircraft. The longer the flight, the bigger the aircraft should be, however you may use any aircraft.
- ALWAYS SET YOUR DESTINATION USING THE MAP! If you do, once you take off you can touch “NAV” and that will make the autopilot fly to your destination for you. However, automatic descent or “APPR” are only for certain aircraft. Learn more about using the APPR here
Have fun! Good luck!
