London City Tower

It’s pretty redundant from what I’ve read, so I wouldn’t worry too much about that.

That’s insane that London city will be controlled from 80 miles away

I remember seeing this on the news I live near LCY but I really don’t like the idea.

What if the power goes out? Then all you see is a black screen.

Ever heard of backup generators? ;)

They can use back u generaters but the airport would need power and depending on the generator it probably won’t be able to supply the whole airport that includes taxi lights runway lights gate lights PAPI lights ect

You misunderstand. We’re talking about power for the control center. The airports power will still be as it is today.

OOOHHHH ok my bad I thought u we’re talking about the airport

im 1000 percent sure that there will be either battery backup or backup generators on standy incase things like this happen

That’s true, but what if an electromagnetic pulse hits the generators? Then you have a huge problem…

KSFO, KOAK, KSJC, etc in SF Bay Area:
Excepting for the visual towers themselves, regional air traffic control is done in a building in Fremont Ca miles from any airport .
