Can’t wait. Over 70% of the British Public support the added taxiways and gates. Its established that the airport accounts for 5% of all UK exports. Lets see what happens.
It seems like Boris Johnson although highly respectable is the only one who doesn’t want this stunning airport to be expanded.
Lets start a discussion :p
Would be cool, but would this get rid of having to back taxi? (ATC would probably like, I like back taxiing!)
The City Airport Development Programme (CADP) proposals include seven new aircraft stands, a parallel taxiway and terminal extensions to the west and to the east, which would enable up to 6.5 million passengers by 2025.

Just to clarify its not 70% of the British Public, but 70% of the 1000 London based Business leaders who where asked. Slightly different meaning, however as LCY serves mainly business travellers it would make sense to poll them, especially if you want a favourable outcome!
Not the LCY I know of… :/
This will probably be the master plan.
Finally! I was reading about how the mayor wouldn’t let it happen a couple months ago, and now it might! :)
This looks like a really nice airport! :)
I see there’s space to the left of the CDI, they could extend then runway a bit so pilots have more landing space.
The taxiway obviously would be moved further to the left as well.
If this comes we still must wait years for it:(
Don’t worry. Lots of airports still require back taxiing in IF. In fact, I can’t think of any in the Caribbean that do! (Cocoa Point was done incorrectly so that’s an exception).
Yes we also must wait there for about 10 years? Or even 20
Don’t know exactly
But pleas stay on this topic;)
Heathrow Airport Expansion - #7 by divebuddha Look here for EGLL expension
Yes which would destroy a ton of aviation capacity that London can not do without
At the end of the day the mayor made a political decision.
There will be no runway expansions only taxiway extensions
I love to back taxi nooooooooo :D
Yes, but if the other 30% are those that live around the airport, then you’ve got a problem…
From what I’ve seen 75% of local people support the project but i totally take on what you are saying.
