On approach service to LSGG just now, Hansaline 683, cleared for RW4, and the localizer began to rapidly alternate between RW4 and RW4L. Couldn’t stabilize the fix after several tries, so I exited. Never seen this before. Anyone else?

Are you sure that you selected right localizer for runway 4L?

Make sure you select it and its not on auto. Sometimes depending on location it can go back and forth.

I was turning to RW 4 localizer, then rapidly switched back and forth 4 to 4L several times. Could not set it.

Next time make sure to select the localizer for the runway you are landing on.

You can always PM a controller a message to explain what happend if you want :) But its not a big issue.

Did you have the asterisk? I have never had this happen in four years of flying on IF when actually selecting the localizer.
