Everytime when i was using LNAV, the plane will turn so aggressive that i think all the pessengers or crews have been thrown to other side. Does anyone having this problem? If yes i guess the simulator really change this.
Hey there!
I agree LNAV (particularly the turning) is too sharp and doesn’t anticipate turns - you can vote for an overall smoother autopilot here:
Yes and no. It’s just not very good. I often monitor it especially after takeoff and before landing to activate the next waypoint a few seconds early which smooths out the turns.
It “snaps” to 25’ roll but still can’t make the turns especially at speed. There should be dynamic roll too, at lower speeds it should roll to 35’ which would allow it to make turns tighter when needed.
There are a number of great proposals for everything from dynamic banking to a full flight director - but I think just having the next waypoint automatically activate just a few seconds sooner would smooth things out very well, maybe even responsive to speed and/or wind direction.
Damn this was made in 2017… more than half a decade ago 😂😂
Very true lnav really make unnecessary turns and overshoot. In real life lnav uses 1° increments but on infinite flight I believe 5 or 10° and causing heading to change drastically and overshoot. Also it would be nice if we can get vnav climb feature and auto trim for the aircrafts.
I always activate sooner so that it turns gently.
I’ve something to share Your RNP Library and Guide (SIDs)
It should help you recreate realistic departures had tried out for my current flight and it worked as expected make sure to adjust the altitude and speed to avoid overshooting.
Also have you’s noticed that all aircraft overshot waypoints. Definitely needs to be smoother autopilot physics.
Except for the MD-11F for some reason, idk if I did something but it worked
Really only happens on departure, arrival tends to be smoother
Yep they overshoot waypoints and even while on cruise at straight points they tend to wobble left or right initially.
