Live connecting issue (Solved, connected to a VPN)

Whenever I join a live server, I always get the red exclamation mark for live server. I’m on the latest version, and my WiFi is working fine. I’ve tried deleting the app and restarting my iPad, but nothing. Any help is appreciated.

This just started happening now correct? Try resetting your router for now. We are investigating further. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I just got the subscription, and I’ve never been connected. I will try that tommorow, thanks.

I just tested multiple devices and 3 separate internet connections. Seems you might be having an internet issue or device issue on your end. Recommend you reset your router then your devices network settings.

I’m not sure if this is related, but I just woke up and saw that Infinite Flight crashed during my long haul. It was the first time it had crashed since October.

@Kyle.Plane If your plane crashed it’s likely you ran out of fuel, stalled or another issue occured. If Infinite Flight crashed did your device try updating the OS automatically on its own overnight or was there background apps still open?

Nope, when I woke up my iPad was on the home screen (not lock screen). And I did have a few apps open in the background but I always leave them and nothing bad has happened yet.

@Levet I don’t know if my other message went through, so I’ll send it again. I tried resetting my router, as well as running an internet test. My internet is fine, and it’s still saying the connection failed.

Seems there’s something blocking you whether it’s your Internet/Cellular Service Provider. Is there any chance you try another internet source and have you tried resetting your device’s network settings?

@Levet How do I reset my network settings on IOS? Disconnect and reconnect?

Reset Network Settings

  • From the home screen, tap Settings.
  • Scroll down to, then tap General.
  • Scroll down to, then tap Reset.
  • Tap Reset Network Settings.
  • Tap Reset Network Settings to confirm.

@Chris_S Will that reset it just for my device, or the every device on the WiFi?

Those steps should be completed on your handheld device. Do not perfom this on your modem/router as you will impact everyone.

@Chris_S Tried that, as well as connecting to another internet, still nothing.

Another thing you can try is to change your device’s DNS settings. This only impacts your device and is only when you are on WIFI.

  • Close IF if it is open.

  • From the iPhone’s home screen, tap Settings.

  • Tap Wi-Fi. The screen shown below appears. The available wireless networks in range of your iPhone appear.

  • Find your wireless network in the list, and then click the arrow to the right of it.

  • Tap the DNS field.

  • Delete the current DNS servers, and enter the new DNS servers. (If you enter more than one DNS server, be sure sure to separate the servers with commas.)
    – To use Google DNS, enter 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (8.8.8.8,8.8.4.4)

  • Launch IF again and see if you can download planes / fly online.

I’ve been able to download planes on the internet, as well as stream. I’ve been talking with my father, who’s an electrical engineer, and is saying it’s not a problem with the WiFi.

I am just saying what has worked for others. Something is stopping you from reaching the live server but still able to download. If you don’t want to try it thats fine but we are running out of options. Can you please try it and lets make sure 100% that it is not the issue.

Lets verify everything you have done so far

  • Reboot device?
  • Reboot modem.
  • Uninstall / Reboot / Reinstall IF?
  • Restore network settings - Yes, no change
  • Change DNS settings

The issue you described makes it look like it’s an internet issue. Can you restart your modem/router (if you’re a youngster)?

I hate to be a pain. I’m 13, I have school in 10 minutes, and my dads doing important work. I have done the first two, but the last my dad won’t let me or says it’s unnecessary.

There’s a good chance one of those things will work for you. Give them a shot and report back.
