Lighted taxiways

Hey guys,

I was just wondering. It’s been a while since I played with the simulator but just started again a few days ago and I must say that the updates are very cool. Nice sound effects for triple seven, nice animated cockpits etc… but one thing remains. I actually love flying by night or by sunset but once off the runway, we can’t see a thing lol.

Any ideas on when a future update will involve correcting this ?

I saw it on a youtube video ( Aviation6 ) , It’s been a while since I’ve seen it sorry.

Can you quote your source on this?

Project metal is the graphics engine. In a perfect world they can enable metal and you wouldn’t know. Metal may make it easier for other enhancements which may come later.

Aviation6 is not an official Infinite Flight channel. I would only trust the information provided on Infinite Flight social media accounts and the IFC announcements.

I am saying this and my other comment for others who I have seen assume metal is bringing clouds, lights, buildings, cows, and fish.

It’s been a couple months since I’ve seen that video. Now I know that it may come after the Metal.

While lighting engine rework was showed in the 2020 recap, we haven’t yet seen any shots at night, so there is a possibility it can bring that, especially considering that the Co-Founder of Infinite Flight, which is a bit more reliable source than some clickbait youtuber, has shown his lighting experiments on twitter back in august. Whether that will come is still a question, but it isn’t out of the question, so check back on Infinite Flight’s social media from time to time, and one day you just might see your favorite airport turn into a discoball
