Level 3 violation

Yeah so I got my first level 3 violation and im MAD. I understand the approach at KDFW has alot to handle right now but why level 3? I was about 15-20 mins out, he gave me instructions. I had set the heading to 010 , and about half a minute after the set altitude. He gave 0 time however and gave me the violation. Now I gotta wait ONE WEEK until I can play with actually realistic pilots….

It just really sucks because I had to end the flight, and especially because of how excited I was to fly into a very busy Dallas.

But no offense to any of the controllers at DFW!

We all know level 3 violations are not fun to get, however this matter must be taken to the appeals team, so they can either remove the violation or give you advice on what you did wrong..

Especially when you have 45 VIOLATIONS :sob:

Please check here, contact the appeal team, or communicate in private with the controller. Violation is not fun…but it is best not to discuss violation in public posts.

Yeah its my fault. I just went back and saw controller told me to enter a holding pattern (which I didnt catch). Either way I genuinly do not know how to enter one. This was the first time Ive seen an airport this crowded

Google it for good examples, but a holding pattern is basically just flying a big pattern in the middle of the sky, just with no landing

I know that, its just I never am able to turn at the right time. I heard once every 1 minute is when you do a 180?

Another thing I struggle with is putting in new waypoints when tower assigns a new runway

It is hard.

I just feel a Level 3 is kind of over the top for that? There are people who troll expert and yet dont get any violations at all.

nobody get mad at me for saying that

There were probably 30 aircraft inbound to DFW though. I do feel my controller..

Your right. We have to consider the controller. I also believe they were in the middle of a switch between controller’s.

I do recall about 2-3 minutes before the incident a controller signing off

I landed and tried to get a gate, and I had to wait about 10-15 minutes because they announced that they were switching controllers and to standby for all aircraft.

Now, I am not trying to hate on any of the controllers. They are awesome, it’s just I feel like some things they could do a little better and maybe a little more professional as well.
