Level 2 Violation (with no reason?)

Hello. I was doing a flight from Moscow (UUEE) to London (EGLL) on A330 Aeroflot today (landed in Solo mode few minutes ago).
I tuned into Heathrow Director Approach (it was “Black_Bird” user). I checked in and said that I was descending via BARM1H arrival. This user messeged me “say approach request” and I requested visual approach on 27R.
First he asked me to do approach as I filed my flight plan. Then he said to start descent and maintain different altitude (4000ft, then 3000ft), I did as he asked to.
After few minutes, I started to turn left and then I requested frequency change but he said to stay on his freq. and of course I did, he messeged me just after this to reduce speed to 200kts and I started to reduce my speed.
After these commands “Black_Bird” told me to report airport in sight, but firstly I didnt saw airport and runway at all, because I wasn’t near the runway, and that button didn’t appeared in the menu. I started to turn left one more time (as my flight plan was filed, remind you that “Black_Bird” told me to “continue as filed”) and at the same time that ATC user told me another time to report airport in sight. I tried to find that button in my menu but it didn’t appeared there.
I answered him “Wilco” and he asked me to reduce my speed to 180kts. I tried to find visually the airport from my cockpit and also started to reduce my speed as “Black_Bird” asked me. After few seconds I’ve got a messege that I should follow instructions and after 28 seconds I’ve got Level 2 Violation and I was disconnected from the server.

What it was? What I did wrong or maybe its “Black_Bird’s” fault?

I wasn’t aware of this bug, then I’m sure that the appeals group can do something for you.

I don’t think this is an issue for all « RAIS » buttons on Heathrow, when I controlled yesterday I had one visual approach and it all went smooth, it’s probably a bug that occasionally happens regardless of the airport.

It might be worth notifying Cameron of the issue in Expert Server Upgrade as it might be due to the maintenance being conducted on the Expert Server

i could give u some tips and hopefully this helps :)

always file a flight plan and include SIDs,STARs and Approach procedures in your FPL.

when you are coming into a controlled airport, dont tune out or change frequency unless the controller gives u permission or hand u over to another controller.

alway try your best to go for a GPS or ILS approach, as it is much more straighforward in busy scenarios. When being vectored by ATC for these 2 approaches, just follow whatever heading, speed and altitude the controller gives u and youre on your way to the ILS cone.

Visual approaches are fine, but arent as straighforward as the GPS or ILS approach. You will have to take note of some additional reporting procedures amd commands with ATC.

in your case i think there was a bug of some sort, and maybe thats why u couldnt report airport in sight to the controller. appeals are available always if u feel unjust towards your issued vio.

I can’t say for certain but believe if the RAIS button is not showing, it’s probably because the controller never told the pilot to expect the visual approach. If the controller does not tell them to expect the visual approach, the pilot will not be able to RAIS.
