It’s been a while since I posted. However, now that summer is finally kicking off, I’ve got plenty of time to fly the virtual skies. What better way to begin the summer break than flying to a sunny vacation spot? Here we go from the windy Amsterdam to pleasant Greece…

Did you know? Standing at 101 meters (331 feet) tall, the Amsterdam Schiphol Centre tower was once the world’s tallest air traffic control tower when it opened in 1991.

You may know the Polderbaan runway at AMS; however, did you know of Kaagbaan? Today we’re taking off runway 24/06, also (but rarely) known by that name.

Look out the windshield, and you can spot Lake Balaton, the largest lake in central Europe.

It’s 78 km (48.5 miles) long and 14 km (8.7 miles) wide. It also has nearly 200 km (124 miles) of coastline. At the very end, you can find the town of Keszthely, seen below.

Now we’re banking towards the Aegean Sea as we already fly over the Balkans.

Flying over the sea, already above the Greek isle of Lemnos, where, according to Greek mythology, Hephaestus, the god of the forge, was thrown from Mount Olympus by Zeus and Hera.
