I just noticed you live at JBER! Thank you for your service!
Yes! it is the Decathlon!! :(
It’d be so nice if we could actually fly through Rainy pass, or fly around Girdwood.
It’s a nice plane; just doesn’t have a cockpit
Yeah, Girdwood is beautiful.
Remind me where Rainy Pass is?
Thats true and although it didn’t have much features, I liked the plane.
It’s not me in the military, it’s my dad who is in the Coast Guard.
Oh. Cool. Tell him a kid from Eagle River said thank you for his service!
Wish they could fix the terrain around and north of Anchorage, we could get great pics of the city, and northern places like Barrow.
Great pics @PilotDog! Juneau is great! 😃👍🏻
I’ve never been there in IF. I’ll bet it’s still beautiful though
It looks nice, but both places don’t look their best without 3D or HD terrain.
Thanks!! I just get more excited as the days pass because soon, we will have have the entirety of Alaska. I could do flights to Denali and one to the Kobuk sand dunes, which is an actual desert in the Arctic.
I can’t wait, I’ll do the Anchorage - Fairbanks when we get Alaska’s scenery.
Alaska doesn’t have 3d?
Yup, no 3D terrain north of the line I drew. Only the panhandle - Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka etc. have 3D terrain.
How sad. In that case, LET’S GO SEE JUNEAU! Lol.
Could you please show me a pic of Anchorage while you’re flying so that I can see what it looks like?
Also, spoiler: They’re using RWY 7L instead of 15/33 for takeoffs ;)
City of Anchorage.
Some mountains around Anchorage that should be 3D.
By the way Homer has 3D terrain. That’s only 20 by air minutes south of Anchorage.
I’d say it looks nice, but it would be so good with 3D stuff. Anchorage is almost surrounded by mountains, and they are so beautiful!
Homer has some mountains, so I’ll bet that looks nice.
It does, one of the best places in IF. After Juneau, of course.
Just making sure…
You got the difference between 20 minutes in flight vs. driving away from Anchorage?
By the way Homer has 3D terrain. That’s only 20 minutes south of Anchorage.
