This is weird because Q400s are really, really loud. I don’t know objectively what’s louder between that and a new-gen jet but they certainly pierce the air a whole lot more.

LCY is right near the main financial area of London (eg Canary Wharf) and a heavy A320 NEO would produce a louder noise on takeoff especially if it’s at a high angle of attack and the runway is short. Also there are residential areas near LCY on the east side. And a low flying plane would disturb the area I guess.
My guess is that BA would operate its normal routes out of LCY (and maybe a few new ones) to ease the congestion at LHR.

This is huge! Airlines who want to fly larger aircraft into LCY finally will be able to if this gets approved! Let’s hope the 737 family will be next
