LAX Summer Spotting

Some Summer Catches @ LAX

Date: 8/17/26

Location: The Sepulveda In-n-Out

Gear: Canon EOS 60D

My last catch of the day, which sent me running as fast as I could from my car, was this Lufthansa 747-8i in from Frankfurt!

Triple seven number one of two, this awesome Austrian 777-200ER coming in from Vienna.

Coming in on the stopover from Narita is the Singaporean 777-300ER. It’s incredible that this plane can even fly; it’s SO huge.

Here’s a nice shot of an E175LR. I don’t remember where this one was coming from.

A nice Delta A321neo coming in from Salt Lake City

And the pencil plane in all of its glory, a United 757-300 arriving from Chicago

This more rare catch, a SkyWest livery CRJ-700 coming from Tucson.

The Longest of the Dreamliners, a KLM 787-10 arriving from Amsterdam.

And easily one of the best 787 liveries, this ANA 787-9 landing from Tokyo.

And the final shot, which was my first shot of the day, this United 737-9 MAX

In-N-Out parking lot at LAX. Eat the best burger in the world while watching the best aircraft in the world.

It’s anything but the best location for spotters. It’s just for tourists who are there for the experience rather than actually trying to do proper planespotting

Very nice photos! My favorite is the zoomed-in shot of the E175.

I mean, you can do some “real” spotting. It’s not the best but photography is still certainly doable, much better than a lot of other airports’ options.

Thanks! I would say the park next to the In-N-Out or the food court short of 25L.

Absolutely, the parking lot definitely isn’t great but it works in a pinch.

Thanks! Thats one of my favs too.

Max 9 actually

You can tell by the United titles not reaching the over-wing exit doors

Thanks! Updated.

#ermackshually it’s pretty good for night spotting if you have a short 2.8

Great phots! Flew in and out of LAX recently for the first time in a few years, wow, what a hot mess in terms of people traffic in the terminals and out front!
